nyc olympic logo

The announcement of the potential logo for the possible 2012 NYC Olympics was revealed yesterday. It's design, or as some may say lack of, has caused quite a stir among the Gothamist community.

After seeing the logo, I too failed to find it perfect. While I will conceded that it isn't a horrible logo, it just has the feeling of being a first draft. The arms raised gave some, including myself this mental image of being held at gun point. So to get this image out of my head, I made the above crudely done mock up.

empire state building at night

For my third trip to the Empire State Building (first time non work related) I was able to get a great view the city at night. Having been at the building for a function sponsered by Hershey's and hosted by Nick and Amy of "The Apprentice" fame, the true treat was the views. They are simply breath taking.

My only regret is forgetting to take a Mfop picture while I was up there.

More views: here and here.
